Biography: Dr. Ting Zhang is an Associate Professor at the Merrick School of Business and serves as the Associate Director of the Jacob France Institute at the University of Baltimore. Recognized with the esteemed University System of Maryland Board of Regents Faculty Award in Scholarship/Research (2023), she holds the Harry Y. Wright Chair and has earned the T. Rowe Price Excellence in Teaching Award.
Dr. Zhang's academic role span diverse areas. She is an Entrepreneurship Faculty Fellow at the Association of Public Policy Analysis and Management (APPAM), Councilor-at-Large for the North America Regional Science Council, President-elect of the Northeast Regional Science Association, and an appointed member of the Maryland Governor's Office of Equal Pay Commission.
Within the realm of editorial services, Dr. Zhang is an editorial board member for Small Business Economics and a guest editor for esteemed journals such as Entrepreneurship & Regional Development and Review of Regional Research. Furthermore, Dr. Zhang holds an associate editorship at the Journal of Urban Management.
Dr. Zhang's scholarly pursuits are anchored in human capital, employment dynamics, entrepreneurship, and workforce development.
Dr. Zhang's global engagement is manifest through her keynote speeches at prominent events such as the Uddevalla Symposium and at distinguished institutions including the University of Lisbon (Portugal), Leadership in Motion (Sweden), Johns Hopkins University, George Washington University, UMBC, as well as invited talks at Cambridge University, Harvard University, and UIUC.
